The En Gedi Project is a community of families who love to camp, explore, and experience the wonder of God’s great Creation together. We are incredibly blessed to live amidst such breathtaking and diverse landscapes—and we’ve found even greater joy in sharing these outdoor adventures with others.

Since 2008, we’ve been leading youth and family trips into deserts, mountains, national parks, and mountain biking trails across the Western U.S. and Canada. Whether it’s backpacking under star-filled skies, paddling across alpine lakes, or gathering around a campfire, our hope is to reflect, in some small way, the love that God has shown us.

A highlight of every journey is the opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus through engaging, story-rich encounters with the Bible—often in places where the beauty of creation makes God’s Word come alive. We would love to have your child—or your whole family—join us. Hope to see you on the trail!

What is the En Gedi Project?

Camp En Gedi is the unofficial name for every camp we host. It isn’t tied to a single place—it’s wherever we gather to enjoy the blessings of God’s creation and the community He has drawn together. Whether in mountains, forests, or deserts, Camp En Gedi is wherever God meets us with His presence, peace, and purpose.

In Scripture, En Gedi was an oasis in the wilderness near the Dead Sea—a place of refuge where David took shelter while fleeing from King Saul (1 Samuel 23:29). Surrounded by rocky cliffs and relentless pursuit, David found safety, rest, and connection with God in this unlikely place. Some of David’s most heartfelt psalms were likely written during his time there (see Psalm 63).

In the same spirit, our adventures often lead us into wild, inhospitable, and awe-inspiring places. These wilderness settings remind us of the words of the prophet Isaiah, who spoke of God bringing transformation to barren lands:

“The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad;
the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus...
Waters shall break forth in the wilderness,
and streams in the desert.”
— Isaiah 35:1,6

Isaiah’s vision of redemption points us to Jesus, the Living Water (John 4:10, John 7:38). In Him, the dry places of our lives are revived, and we find a true refuge from the pressures of this world. Just as En Gedi was a hidden oasis for David, we hope our camps offer moments of peace, joy, restoration, and spiritual awakening for those who join us.

Our Mission

The En Gedi Project exists to serve the community in Jesus’ name through immersive outdoor experiences, mentorship, and meaningful fellowship. Whether it’s a day hike, a weekend backpacking trip, or a shared campfire conversation, our goal is to provide rest, reconnection, and renewal—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

We believe God still speaks in the wilderness. Our prayer is that every camper would encounter the grace of Christ, the beauty of creation, and the joy of Christian community.

The En Gedi Project has a broad mission of serving the community in Jesus' name and is a Wyoming Non-Profit organized under section 501(c)3 of the IRS Tax Code. EIN 85-2689193
